The Living Room is Coming Together!

It will take awhile to get everything settled, but at least the living room is starting to come together!

My New Hobby is Gardening!

This is my view out my back patio. Isn't it stunning? Belinda and I sat out on the patio in the evenings and enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets!

It inspired me to do my part, so I had some hanging plant hangers installed and put up some lovely hanging baskets with such pretty blooming flowers. You can see me busy misting them.

In the front garden, I wanted to put up a little picket fence near my blooming roses, so you can see me in our local Super-Walmart selecting the one I wanted. (One picture shows two of them installed, and then I added two more, so the whole front of the patch has picket fence on it.)
Then I had to get busy with watering the front garden. They just installed grass seeds, so I have to water the front patch twice a day for six weeks. Afterwards, the installed sprinkler system will be enough to sustain it.

What an Amazing Place!

On the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend, we realized that the air conditioner just wasn't getting the place cool enough. So we stopped by the office on a Thursday afternoon and expressed our concern.

The very next afternoon, we drove up to discover a man replacing the air conditioner compressor ... a brand new one being installed and at no cost to me!

I was so impressed that this non-profit retirement community really does invest in quality homes for its residents!

Thanks to their rapid-action response, we had a very comfortable Memorial Day Weekend in the new house. (It would have been miserably hot there if not for their quick response to my situation!)

Moving is Never Easy!

It is never easy to move! I think they say "You have to get into a mess... to get out of it!" And "they" are right!

The first picture above was taken before the movers delivered the furniture. On the left side of the picture, you can see the white front door. The guest bedroom is to its left. On the right side of the picture, you can see the make-shift dining room and an entrance into the kitchen. At the forefront, you can see my new oriental rug for the living room.

In the second and third pictures, you can see what it looked like after the furniture and other things arrived. There was a lot to sort through! I was so glad that Belinda was here to help me!

My Change of Address!

I finally moved into my new patio home in Rio Concho West (RCW) retirement community in San Angelo, Texas!

My daughter Belinda spent 10 days with me, and we moved everything from the old apartment into the new home. Whew! It was a lot of work, but it was really worth it!

The address has changed, but the phone number remains the same.

(If you double click on the picture of the change of address postcard above, you can see it a lot better.)

My New Patio Home!

Today I closed on my new patio home in San Angelo, Texas! As my daughter Belinda would say: "Yee-haw!"

You can see me inspecting the ceiling fan. It took a lot of time and effort to transform the place into my place, but it was really worth it! New ceiling fans, light fixtures, bathrooms fixtures, kitchen counter-top changed, tile installed... whew!

Check later blog entries to see how I'm doing with the unpacking!

My Birthday: Cinco de Mayo!

Today is May 5th, and, yes, it is Cinco de Mayo! And it is my birthday! It's fun that so many people celebrate on my special day!

This year, I am having a great birthday week! It includes a party and a luncheon and being with good friends. The pictures feature me in my Fiesta hat, with my good friends Mary and Dorothy.

Life is good!

Retirement in San Angelo, Texas: Yee-haw!

Finally the time for retirement has come: Yee-haw (as my daughter would say)!

I am about to move into my patio home in a lovely retirement community here in western Texas.

You are invited to join me on the journey!
