A friend-raiser in Corvallis

Corvallis UMC hosted a "friend-raiser" for Intermountain on Friday evening which was very well attended.  The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the programs offered and more importantly, the lives of the children that are impacted through those programs.

One of the presenters offered this quote from Brother Van (a famous Methodist "circuit rider" who started the children's home):

"Under God, brethren, we cannot let the suffering of children go unchallenged."

Happy Trunk-or-treat!

Amber has the "Best Costume"
The annual Trunk or Treat event took place tonight in the church parking lot.   Nine trunks, trucks, or vans were present including a tent for refreshments manned by Bill & Carol G. Thanks to all of the generous contributions made by church members of candy for the effort!

Over the pass to Idaho!

After visiting the wildlife refuge near Stevensville, we decided to make a jaunt over the Lolo Pass into Idaho for lunch! There was already a good deal of snow at the higher elevations!

A walk along the river

A lovely day for a ride
A pause with Rob
With Rob in town for the weekend, we took advantage of the lovely October weather to visit the nearby Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge.

Post-bazaar fun!

Teaching Rob to play Skip-bo!
Beef Veggie soup from the Bazaar
Belinda and Charles certainly know how to keep one amused and well-fed!

The bazaar held at the church yesterday kept us busy from early morning to late afternoon. Today we were able to secure some bargains from the left-overs including some of the best beef vegetable soup anywhere!

Another church bazaar!

Helping to set-up for the UMW bazaar
My contribution to the bazaar
A highlight of the October visit was the annual bazaar put on by the Stevensville UMC United Methodist Women. My contribution to the effort was an array of knitted scarves which by all accounts were very well received.

My Visit to Montana for the Holidays!

My "grand-cat" Wesley is watching the glow of the fire
(?waiting for Santa?)
Lovely snowy scene out the back deck of the parsonage!

Icicle formed at bottom tip of flag!  Brrr!

This picture was taken today -- outside the front door of the parsonage

Thanks to my "BFF" (best friend forever -- Kathie Bee)... I made it to/from the San Angelo, Texas, airport... for a lovely five-week visit with my daughter and her husband in western Montana.

I just returned tonight!  Whew!  What a wonderful whirl-wind of activity.  I met some wonderful new friends, and I was made to feel very welcome in my own "suite" at their parsonage home, which is directly opposite the street from the United Methodist Church, where my son-in-law serves as pastor.

... Now ... to unpack...

Happy new year, everyone!
