 We took advantage of the amazing bazaar at Zion Lutheran Church this weekend for a quality "Color Bath" (to use Belinda's term).

Yesterday Belinda and I up a booth at the Country Store in Menard.  We had a lot of fun getting the items marked for sale... and setting up the displays and decorations for autumn! 

Thanks be to God for new beginnings!  (I rented this "booth area" in the store for the next two months... during the holiday season.  After that, who knows?  Time... and God... will tell!)

Family Reunion in San Angelo

I had a lovely family reunion this past week at my home in San Angelo, Texas.  It was wonderful to have my son and daughter with me!  The picture was taken of us at Henry's Mexican Restaurant.

Lovely Rainbow in Texas

My good friend Kathie Bee recently took a bus trip to Kiowa Casino in Oklahoma.  On her return trip, she realized she had left her cell phone there.  As it turned out, the only way she could retrieve her phone was by returning to the casino.  Today my daughter Belinda and I accompanied her there, so that she could do just that!  Mission Accomplished:  She now has her cell phone!  

We enjoyed a delicious lunch and then played the slot machines until the credit we were extended ran out.  (Translation:  We played at no cost to us.)  We really enjoyed our road trip!  A good time was had by all.  And when we were almost home, we got to see a lovely rainbow!

Yesterday's English Tea in San Angelo, Texas

Yesterday, my daughter Belinda and I attended a special tea in honor of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee , i.e., the anniversary commemorating her 60 years as the reigning monarch of Great Britain.  What a lovely celebration it was!  Thanks to the dedicated efforts of many faithful ladies in our area, the tea was a triumph, indeed!

This month, we enjoyed the annual ladies' luncheon at the Rio Concho West clubhouse which was sponsored by our council members.  A special treat was a fabulous fashion show which featured some of our residents as models.  This year, there is an emphasis on bright colors in ladies' fashion.

My favorite consignment shop can be found at 2421 College Hills Boulevard in San Angelo, Texas!  For years, I had the pleasure of shopping at "Breeze's Boutique" where the proprietress Mary always gave us a warm welcome as we entered her shop to enjoy hours of treasure hunting for that special outfit.  Recently, my daughter and I attended her retirement party.  It was a bittersweet occasion!  We hated to see the time of "Breeze's Boutique" come to an end.  However, we are so happy for Mary and the next chapter in her life:  Retirement!  
After a week, it reopened as "Dinah's Resale Boutique."  We wish Diana all the best in her new business adventure.  And we are thankful that the establishment will continue in the same location!

Just before Belinda and Charles move to San Antonio next month, there was time for one more visit to McCamey. They have put a lot of work into the back garden, whomever comes to the parsonage next will have a lovely place to rest!

Lovely Birthday Luncheon Today!

My next-door neighbors, Debbie and Cue, and my daughter Belinda and I ... all of us enjoyed a lovely lunch at The River Terrace restaurant in San Angelo today.  Belinda treated us to lunch in celebration of our May birthdays:  Debbie on the 3rd, Cue on the 7th and mine on the 5th.  Afterwards, we visited Eggemeyer's General Store in downtown "Angelo!"  It was great fun to see all the things they have in this old-fashioned "five and dime" store!  I feel so blessed to have such lovely neighbors... and a very thoughtful daugher!  

Granddaughter Lisa's Graduation Next Week!

Next week, my granddaughter Lisa will be graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder with two degrees:  A Master of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphases in Accounting and Finance, graduating Cum Laude.  Phew!  What an amazing accomplishment!  We are all so very proud of her!

The diploma frames that Lisa is holding are graduation gifts from my daughter Belinda and her husband Charles and me (her "Nana").
