Successful Trip to Oklahoma Today!

Lovely Rainbow in Texas

My good friend Kathie Bee recently took a bus trip to Kiowa Casino in Oklahoma.  On her return trip, she realized she had left her cell phone there.  As it turned out, the only way she could retrieve her phone was by returning to the casino.  Today my daughter Belinda and I accompanied her there, so that she could do just that!  Mission Accomplished:  She now has her cell phone!  

We enjoyed a delicious lunch and then played the slot machines until the credit we were extended ran out.  (Translation:  We played at no cost to us.)  We really enjoyed our road trip!  A good time was had by all.  And when we were almost home, we got to see a lovely rainbow!

Yesterday's English Tea in San Angelo, Texas

Yesterday, my daughter Belinda and I attended a special tea in honor of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee , i.e., the anniversary commemorating her 60 years as the reigning monarch of Great Britain.  What a lovely celebration it was!  Thanks to the dedicated efforts of many faithful ladies in our area, the tea was a triumph, indeed!

This month, we enjoyed the annual ladies' luncheon at the Rio Concho West clubhouse which was sponsored by our council members.  A special treat was a fabulous fashion show which featured some of our residents as models.  This year, there is an emphasis on bright colors in ladies' fashion.
